Alec Travis
Co-Owner Beverage Director
Alec has been the brains behind Field Day since the very beginning, from formulating recipes to research and development of all our products, Alec has lead the charge on bringing the best liquid to North Liberty. Alec previously spent time at Lion Bridge Brewing Company and SingleSpeed Brewing Company. Outside of work Alec enjoys Cooking and Camping with his wife and kids. Alec’s favorite Beer is Czech Premium Lager and his favorite Field Day Dish is any hot dog put in front of him.
Brendan Best
Taproom Manager
Brendan joined the Field Day Team in July 2023 shortly before opening. Hailing from Ames, Brendan brings 16 years of hospitality experience with an expertise in Craft Cocktails, Spirits, Craft Beer and Good Times. He previously helped lead Front Of House teams at Cyclone Liquors, Cellar 626, and Provisions Lot F. When not at Field Day, Brendan enjoys spending his time being a Cat Dad, collecting rocks & tie dye t-shirts as well as experiencing live music. His favorite Field Day beer is Czech Dark and is an avid fan of our Orange Chicken Bowl.
Jake Wegmann
Executive Chef
Jake has been crafting our delicious menu since June of 2023. Jake is a graduate of the Iowa Culinary Institute and has spent time in area kitchens such as Pig & Porter, Cobble Hill, and most recently Provisions Lot F in Ames. Though Jake spent time in Ames he is a diehard Hawkeye fan, and also enjoys spending time with his dog June as well as an avid record collector. Jake’s favorite Field Day Beer thus far is Czech Dark Lager, and he enjoys every dish on his well-crafted menu
Michele Langseth
Marketing & Event Director
Michele joined the Field Day crew in February 2024 as our Events Coordinator and is currently the Director of Marketing and Events. She’s the creative force behind many of our public and private events, always dreaming up new ways to keep things fresh and fun. She loves collaborating with local businesses and organizations to bring the community together. When she’s not at Field Day, you’ll probably find her hanging with her family. Her go-to Field Day drink is a crisp Lemon Ginger Day Dreamer, and she loves trying out new soups every week!
Aaron Peeters
Head Brewer
Aaron has been with Field Day since we started brewery operations in May of 2023. Aaron has brought his passion of Lagers and Beer Culture to Field Day and the team has feed off that energy. Previously Aaron has spent time as a Brewer at Lion Bridge Brewing and Green Tree Brewing Company. When Aaron isn’t working he enjoys The Hawks and spending time with family and friends. Field Day Pils would be his go to beer, and his favorite Field Day Dish is our German Pork Shank.
Sasha Tyler
Brand Ambassador
Sasha was part of our original hiring class here at Field Day as part of our serving staff before becoming our first ever Brand Ambassador. You can find Sasha out in the area sampling and selling both Field Day and our sister product Daydreamer THC Sparkling Water. Outside of Field Day Sasha is a certified Pilates Instructor as well as spends time performing and choreographing musicals in local theatre productions. Sasha’s favorite beer is Girl Talk Smoothie Sour and go-to meal is Carnitas Tacos with Chips & Salsa.
Kyle Theil
Director of Taproom Operations
Kyle started on Field Day Operations in June of 2023 shortly before opening. Though originally from Chicagoland Kyle has considered North Liberty home for many years. Previously Kyle was the General Manager of sister venue Tin Roost as well as headed up operations for Chicagoland Event venue Pinstripes. Outside of work Kyle is an avid golfer and shoe collector. Kyle’s favorite Field Day beer is Czech Dark Lager and go to dish is Fish Tacos.
